Aldeburgh Golf Club is celebrated for its fast-draining, sandy soil, which keeps the course in top condition all year round. Even in winter there is no need for preferred lies or temporary greens or tees, and R&A adviser Alistair Beggs has described it as having “amongst the best playing surfaces in the land”.
Aldeburgh is a two-ball course and a proud champion of foursomes golf, a format cherished by purists, so it offers a wonderfully traditional golfing experience on the Suffolk coast.
Aldeburgh features on our Suffolk Coastal Golf tour.
Courses: 27 holes across two heathland courses. Address: Saxmundham Road, Aldeburgh, Suffolk IP15 5PE
