Bamburgh Castle Golf Club is often described as one of the most scenic courses in Britain, and it is easy to see why. Its views take in Lindisfarne, the Farne Islands, the Cheviots and, of course, Bamburgh Castle.
Lined by gorse, heather and whinstone, it is one of the truest links experiences in England, with an unusual start of back-to-back par 3s followed by two excellent par 5s. At just over 5,600 yards it isn’t long, but it is a demanding par 68, with birdie chances on the way home from three par 4s under 300 yards. A friendly clubhouse serves good food after your round.
Bamburgh features on our Northumberland Golf Coast tour.
Course: 18-hole links. Address: The Wynding, Bamburgh NE69 7DE
