Ganton Golf Club

Ganton is one of the highest-rated courses in England. Set on sandy, gently rolling ground near Scarborough, it blends links and heathland so well that many golfers call it an inland links, even though it is miles from the sea.

Expect firm, fast fairways, fast greens and cunningly placed, sometimes cavernous bunkers, all kept in pristine condition year round. Some of the greatest names in golf course architecture have shaped it, including Harry Vardon, Ted Ray, James Braid, J.H. Taylor, Harry Colt and Alister MacKenzie.

Ganton has hosted the Ryder Cup, the Walker Cup, the Curtis Cup and the Amateur Championship. It features on our York Classic Golf Tour, alongside Fulford and York Golf Club.

Course: 18-hole heathland. Address: Station Road, Ganton, Scarborough YO12 4PA
