Hollinwell (Notts Golf Club)

Hollinwell, home of Notts Golf Club, is renowned as one of the UK’s finest inland courses and was long one of golf’s best-kept secrets. It is set in the gently rolling hills of north Nottinghamshire, in the heart of Robin Hood country and only ten minutes from junction 27 of the M1.

This is a stunning, varied heathland championship course and an important nature conservation site, described by The R&A’s ecologist as every bit as much a nature reserve as a golf course. It plays well all year round, with some of the best winter conditions anywhere.

Visitors receive a warm welcome, and the clubhouse offers panoramic views over the course. Hollinwell is one of the Nottingham Heathlands, alongside Sherwood Forest.

Course: 18-hole heathland. Address: Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottingham NG17 7QR
