Royal Worlington & Newmarket

Founded in 1893, Royal Worlington & Newmarket is the most celebrated nine-hole course in golf. Bernard Darwin called it “the sacred nine”, and generations of golfers have agreed with him.

It is laid out on sandy, fast-draining heathland near Mildenhall, and is famous for its firm, quick greens, which are among the most testing in England. Play it twice from different tees and you’ll see why it is so loved.

Royal Worlington features on our Suffolk Coastal Golf tour.
