Sherwood Forest Golf Club lies within the legendary forest itself, just east of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire. Ranked among the top 50 courses in England, it was first designed by Harry Colt and later enhanced by James Braid.
This is a true championship heathland test of 6,835 yards, with 98 bunkers of local sand and long carries over punishing swathes of heather. It is known for its outstanding greens and a long, demanding finish – the back nine is rarely your better nine.
Sherwood Forest is one of the Nottingham Heathlands, with Hollinwell close by, making it a perfect base for a heathland golf trip in Robin Hood country.
Course: 18-hole heathland. Address: Eakring Road, Mansfield NG18 3EW
